Rachel and Rie--Happy in Hachie!

Last weekend I was lucky to go on a quickie get-away with Rachel to Waxahachie where we attended the Paper Cowgirl Altered Art Retreat! It was so interesting! Above is a wedding dress crafted from coffee filters! There were also Velveeta cheese boxes made into some decorative and useful items.

Rachel and I took a 3-hour class to make this "Vintage Tag Mobile." When I took mine home, Walter said, "What in the world is this?" ha ha. Only a few people understand!

After our class we shopped in downtown and at the retreat vendors' sale. There were a lot of old vintage items, which are treasures and inspirations to these creative souls at this retreat.

We returned from our weekend outing with a huge chicken and a wedding dress in our car! (No, not the coffee filters dress!) Actually Rachel loves lace and couldn't resist a bargain vintage wedding dress which she envisions remaking, recycling or selling. Rachel loves to sew.

On our way home Sunday, we visited The Avenue Church there. We had a great time together!

Big Chickens for the Yard!

When visiting in Ohio, I took this picture of this wonderful chicken which Aunt Annie just recently acquired for her backyard. It was still in their garage following a welding repair job by my Uncle Bob. Isn't it wonderful? Would you believe I found one for myself the very next weekend!

Shopping in downtown Waxahachie is dangerous! Rachel and I came home with this huge chicken in the back seat of the car! I spotted it in the window of the Dove's Nest, a restaurant and gift store there. I always wanted one of these for my yard, especially after seeing Bob and Annie's chicken in Ohio!

Rachel Graduates from Plano Senior High School

This is our lovely granddaughter, Rachel, who just graduated!

Here is a picture of her with her friend, Dalton, taken at an after-graduation dinner at the home of her Grandparents Cole. Notice the picture on the wall in the background--that's Leah, Rachel's mother. What a beautiful resemblance!

Rachel will be leaving town the end of August to embark on her college adventures. She will fly to Long Island, where Global College is based, then to Costa Rica where she will spend her first year of studies in their International Affairs program.
