Be a Psalm Reader

Have you read any good Psalms lately? How about Psalm 91? Read it in your favorite translation, then put it into the MOV (My Own Version), i. e., into your very own words. You can also turn it into your prayer of thanksgiving for the day. Isn't God good?

Bible Character T-Shirt #5

Here is another Bible character--can you guess who would have worn this message?

The answer to the last mystery Bible character (#4) is Melchizedek, King of Salem, to whom Abram (aka Abraham) gave one tenth of his booty. This was the first mention of tithing in the Bible. (See Genesis 14:18-20.)

Africa, Here We Come!

Just two more weeks and we'll be on our way to visit Wes and Leah and our precious granddaughters in Yaounde, Cameroon! At this point we have our passports and visas in order. We have our arms shot full of immunizations, our minds full of advice from wise sage friends, and our spirits filled with anticipation. I am still busy preparing some things for the African children I hope to meet.

What a once-in-a-lifetime vacation for us! We will get to be with our family there, share in some ministry, see new sights we've never seen before, and hopefully relax a little too.

I'll be sharing pictures with you when we return!

Bible Character T-Shirt #4

Guess what Bible Character could have worn this t-shirt message.

(The answer to Bible Character T-Shirt #3 is Lydia, the seller of purple.)

Our Hike to the River

One of the highlights of our trip was our hike down by the Whetstone River in Claridon led by our fearless leader, my brother John. Here we are following John through a cornfield.

John remembers as a kid often tramping up and down the river. When someone recently mentioned to him a certain spot in the river where there are some curious, unusual rock formations, John lit up and said, "I know exactly where that is!" After some research, he found an article in the newspaper from the thirties which tells a legend of an Indian princess related to that spot. So we all enjoyed our adventure to see that special, though relatively unknown place in the river called "The Pool of Ma-Hee-tah."

My brother John and I with Mom

Our Ohio Reunion

We have just returned from a very special trip to Ohio last weekend. We flew to Ohio to visit my mother. Wayne and Stacy from Austin joined us there, as did Anna and Sean from Portland, Oregon. Mom got to meet Stacy and Sean for the first time! And it had been six years since I had seen my brother John, who just moved from Alabama last year back to Ohio where we grew up. We attended a McClenathan reunion (my dad's family) at the park in Cardington. Here are a few shots from our camera to commemorate the occasion!

Mission Accomplished! This is Mom. We captured this beautiful smile at the McClenathan Reunion.
