Guess That Hymn

I recently had a phone call from an acquaintance who wanted to sharpen her piano-playing skills and go play for some nursing homes! I grabbed onto her--Yes! I love taking a piano player to the nursing home with me. By the way, I am tucking a second nursing home into my schedule. This one is called Sunrise, and my current one is named Dayspring.

Well, having someone to play the piano for me is a perfect time to pull out my "Guess That Hymn" game. I hold up an object that would remind the residents of the title of an old hymn. After they have guessed it, we sing the hymn. For example, two old pieces of wood nailed together to form a cross was meant to remind them of "The Old Rugged Cross." A roll of toilet paper could represent "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" or "Rolled Away." Here are some more examples of items I use. Can you guess what hymns these things suggest?

1. An ad for an ob/gyn
2. A newspaper weather report forecasting chance of showers
3. A stack of several paper crowns from Chuck E Cheese
4. A flashlight inside a Priority Mailing box
5. A pair of shoe insoles with Bible verses written on them
6. A necktie with "Blest" written on it
7. An invoice with "PAID IN FULL" stamped on it
