Something to Crow About!

These are my Good News Roosters! They tell the simple message of salvation. Perhaps you remember the Wordless Book from your childhood Sunday School class. It was simply blank pages of black, red, white, green and yellow to tell the story of our heart black with sin until Jesus' (red) blood washed it white as snow. Then we grow in the Lord (like green growing grass) and live forever in that city paved with streets of gold. These colorful roosters have put words to that story.
1. The black rooster crows:
"Cock-a-doodle-do!
Who is righteous? Who? Are you?
Certainly not me—I’m gonna be stew!"
(Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.)
2. The red rooster:
"Cock-a-doodle-do!
Who will save me from my fate?
Jesus will—He died to take my place."
(1 John 1:7:7 The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.)
3. The white rooster:
"Cock-a-doodle-do!
My chicken heart is now brand new.
Jesus washed it clean,
It’s whiter than you’ve ever seen!"
(Psalm 51:7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.)
4. The green rooster:
"Cock-a-doodle-do!
I’m learning and growing.
Early each morning
I’m up and crowing!"
2 Peter 3:18:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
5. The gold (or yellow) rooster:
"Cock-a-doodle-do!
I’m all smiles and laughter
'Cause I’ll live with Jesus
Forever and ever after!"
John 14:1-3: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
