Time Flies

When I was reminded that I had not blogged since January 1, I was really sorry I had neglected to do so. Of course, I have lots of excuses, mainly computer frustrations. But I am bravely trying again to get back on track!
Here is a photo from January. This is my story: Every year I get Martin Luther King Day as a holiday from work. I want to use my time wisely! So I always plan on that day to get together with some special old girlfriends who have known each other for 40 years. This year I planned a "hen party" at my house and invited them all over. Well, that was the one day the roads were icy. When 10 a.m. came and went, I resigned myself to the fact no one was coming and had settled down to work on a project of my own. Then there was a knock on my door--it was Sarah Jordan and her three children. (Sarah is the daughter of Sandra Henry, one of these special girlfriends who lives in Oklahoma. Sarah grew up with my daughter Anna. She lives in Dallas.) Sarah braved the freeway and made it to my house with no problems. So it was such a grand time we had after all! We ate soup and deviled eggs, made clucking hens from plastic cups, and had a wonderful time. Her children are delightful! See Grace at the kitchen table with her clucking hen!
