Have a Merry Christmas Celebration

The following is the sentiment in a Christmas card I just received from a dear friend! I believe it is worth passing on to you!

"I think on my sweet Savior and all He gave up
to come to our world and become one of us
saving us from ourselves, what a steep price to pay
paying for us up front, messing not with layaway
to ensure no strings attached, no payments to be made
so we’d be sure not to think we could get to it our way
sweet salvation on our doorstep with a beautiful bow
ours to accept, ours to enjoy
so, what to give back to show Him our love?
something He didn’t have before He came from above
a gift humans could give to their Omnipotent King
and my smile spreads as I can think of only one thing…

a birthday!

a unique day to us marking when our existence begins
to celebrate as we grow with family and friends
He didn’t have one before He came down to us here
we can show Him the celebrating basics, simple and clear
so let’s throw Him some parties, the likes He has never seen
and give back a little love to our Savior, our King
