"Where's a Pencil?"

This is taken from a Country Living magazine clipping from 1985:

I was brought up to accept somewhat traditional roles. It was at my mother's knee that I realized that when a woman wants a pencil she gets up and gets it herself. When a man wants a pencil he looks at the nearest woman and says, "Where's a pencil?"
